Looking for a challenging internship?
Do you love Friesian horses, are you very motivated and would you like to learn more about working with young horses? Then come and do an internship at our stable!
We specialize in selling and teaching young horses under saddle and in harness.
In addition, we also train the horses at the lounge and we occasionally go to the beach and forest.
The days are very diverse. Usually in the morning we start with the young horses from other people that are in training by us.
In the afternoon there is always time to ride or drive, and we like to make videos for our YouTube channel.
In the breeding season, semen capture and insemination will also be discussed.

Tabi has been with us on an internship for 3 months this year.
She is 18 years old and comes from South Africa.
Below she tells how she experienced it.
”I stayed and worked at Stal Okkema for 3 months and enjoyed very moment. The Okkema family and the whole team at Stal Okkema took me right under their wing. They happily taught me how things are done at their stable yard and were always there to answer any questions I had or to help me where ever I needed help. I learnt many valuable skills and lessons in just 3 months at Stal Okkema that I don’t believe I could learn somewhere else. Stal Okkema works extremely hard to make sure that every horse in their care is trained to their highest potential as well as loved and happy. I loved learning about how such a big yard runs day to day and being involved in the managing of so many different horses.
