Selling horses abroad is a time-consuming type of work.
In order to be able to sell something abroad one needs to be able to offer more than the competition.
And we may confidently tell our customers that we do!
Our first priority is to sell the best horses!
Then, the arrangements for the trip are made.
Sometimes, we accompany a shipment of horses.
We are fascinated to see where the horses are going.
We prefer to pay our clients a visit and deliver the horses ourselves.
Much is involved in all of this.
When a horse is sold for shipment abroad, it is first given blood tests and a test for the presence of C.E.M. bacteria, followed by preventative treatment against
venereal disease. When the test results are negative, the horses can be shipped to Schiphol [Amsterdam Airport] where they are transferred to a container for the
rest of the trip by air.
Upon arrival, the horses are disinfected, their body-temperature taken and the ears and nose disinfected.
Then they are placed in quarantine for a 24 hour period of observation.
After all this, the horses are delivered or picked up.
If there is no person travelling with the shipment then we will stay in touch. A couple of weeks upon the shipment.s arrival we call our clients and ask whether
they are satisfied with their new acquisition(s).
