Ancient and beautiful breed
Did you know that Friesian horses have been used for more than 3000 years? Even the Romans got excited about this beautiful animal. It is not without reason that these horses are the oldest native breed in our country. They are mainly put to the test in Friesland. Yet they are also suitable for plowing and training. Only in jumping is not a star, because that is not good for its joints. Appearance and character
A Friesian mare, stallion or gelding is always friendly, intelligent, loyal and eager to learn. It is a willing worker with a cool head, which makes this animal excellent for recreational riding and outdoor riding. His graceful and proud attitude in combination with his reliable behavior ensure that Friesian horses are also extremely suitable for dressage. Some physical characteristics:
- A full and wavy head of mane and tail
- Height at the withers are between 1.55 m and 1.70 m
- In principle they are black in color, sometimes brown
- Shoulders well developed, legs relatively short
- The Frisian head is fine with short and pointed ears
